About

Every recipe on this website begs the question: what if? Not different for the sake of being different, but in pursuit of something better and pushing dishes beyond their limits.

My passion for food comes from generations of home cooks. On my mother’s side, Italian and French traditions filled the kitchen with pasta, long simmered sauces, holiday pâté, and meals made with intention, while my father added curiosity and adventure. Weekends with my dad encompassed “cooking projects,” where we spent time recreating restaurant dishes and tackling ambitious recipes just to see if we could replicate them. Growing up in Washington D.C. further shaped my palate, exposing me to cuisines from around the world.

Shows like No Reservations featuring Anthony Bourdain opened my eyes to food culture and creativity. Familiar flavors in unexpected forms, and ideologies from chefs like Feran Adria, changed how I thought about cooking forever.

I also write opinion pieces about food culture and culinary traditions, particularly in my hometown Washington D.C., tracing local practices, restaurant scenes, and the conversations that make this city a unique culinary melting-pot.

This blog is my expression to explore food with curiosity and respect by honoring tradition, testing boundaries, and sharing opinions on culture and community, especially here in Washington, D.C. Whether a recipe, an experiment, or an essay, my goal is the same: spark questions, inspire taste, and keep asking, what if?
